Pumpkin Tower....Serendipity Stamps September Blog Hop (#2)

Has Fall made its presence known in your part of the world? It certainly has here; the leaves are sporting lovely shades of amber and red, the winds are blowing and the rains are looming on the horizon. Actually, the first 'sign' of autumn's arrival for me: wearing my long-johns and winter coat at the two bike races we officiated at over the weekend.  Brrrr...

Welcome to the Serendipity Stamps September Blog Hop (#2), where my incredible DT and I are sharing a whole bunch of Serendipity Stamps sensations. To be in the running for a $20 gift certificate, just hop along the DT blogs (you should have come from incredibly talented, sweet Patti Kehl's blog) and leave a comment.  Here's the list.

Along with pumpkin spice everythings and cozy sweaters and fuzzy leggings, Fall also brings about a couple of my favourite occasions, with the first being Halloween (second being Thanksgiving - early in Canada, and third, my brother's and husband's birthdays, in October and November, respectively). I'm not a Halloween *fanatic* - we give out candy for sure -but I fall head-over-heels with it as an *excuse* to make cards, tags and mini cards for my niece and nephew, their classmates, their teachers and their friends. It's also justifies the many Halloween products that have been accumulating(how does that happen *grin*) in my cute spooky stuff!

That said, today, I'm sharing Serendipity's Pumpkin Tower with you. Aren't these jack o'lanterns sooooo scary? HA! NOT!  Inked, clear embossed, water-coloured with...are you ready...Crayola water-colour paints (channeling my inner child *grin* AND they kinda sorta worked for me!), fussy cut and set atop a web. I used a 'boo' that I've had for ages, source unknown, and ta dahhhhh...another Halloween card for one of Miss T's or Mr. C's teachers.

Please head over to Serendipity Stamps Blog for more how-to-win details as well as for some scoops on sales.

The 50% off Stamp of the Month: Rake

Next on the list is wonderfully talented Miriam Napier. Enjoy!

Thank you for dropping in today; your visit brings me joy!

Dream Come True....Uniko Design Team!

I've been floating on Cloud 9 for the past couple of weeks; today, finally, I can touch ground (briefly *grin*) and shout from the mountaintops that I have been invited, by wonderfully talented and sweet Beverley Brown, to become part of her Uniko Design Team!  Talk about feeling supremely honoured and ecstatic (and yes, nervous also fits into the mix...) about this dream come true opportunity!

For those who have been following me for a while, you know I adore Uniko products; they're unique, versatile, and of top-notch quality! The stamps are crisp and clear; the dies, cut like butter.

Below are a handful, plus one of cards I've made recently, showcasing just a few of my Uniko favourites (and trust me, this was a challenge! I have a nearly-full to bursting bin dedicated entirely to my Uniko products gathered over the years. Each and every one is a timeless gem).

The first two feature Originally Organic stamps and dies  collection, which have me in a state of glee! I want to make oodles of cards using this set...perfect for so many occasions...

They're pretty left as is...and in colour, too:

My second set features my oldie but goodie Uniko Studio's Beautiful Blooms 1I loved it when I first received it; I love it now!  Both cards see it paired with a couple of newcomers: All Occasion Sentiments 6 and Background Blocks Halftone.

The third set again, is a combination of old and new playing wonderfully together: Explosion! and Explosion! Additions.

A from-the-heart THANK YOU to  Beverley and the team for your warm welcome and the chance to play alongside you in showcasing Uniko products.

I'm heading back to Cloud 9 for a while longer! So excited about this new adventure!

So delighted you found time to drop by; your visit is both welcomed and deeply appreciated!

Fall Leaves and Autumn Art....2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

This is the first time in AGES that I've had opportunity to post coffee-themed cards on Day 1 of the 2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Maybe I'm getting more organized. HA! NOT! Whatever the case, I'm here and aiming to show up again, if this 'trend' continues. We shall see!

Both cards feature STAMPlorations images all the way:

Practicing my colouring with prisma pencils.

I've decided that blues/teals, orange and gold will be my Autumn palette this season; they're yummy (at least I think so...)

(liberally sponged with Delicata Gold ink)

A whole lot o' hopping to be done, so that's it from me! Off to check out the rapidly growing gallery of inspiration!

BOO!...Tag, You're It Challenge #43~Featured Artist Tracey McNeely

After a long summer break, my team-mates and I are delighted to be back for another season of

We open the Fall session with this lovely tag from our very own, Tracey McNeely. Such pretty colours as a backdrop for her gorgeous detailed mandala...

Joining us as our guest designer is incredibly talented Ardyth Percy-Robb. Her tag is, in a word, sensational!

With the rapid approach of Halloween, that's the direction I went in drawing inspiration from Tracey's tag. An embossed spider web, a single word sentiment, distress ink and water-splattered background...and a couple of bats and spiders, just because *grin*.

AnjaDonnaErinJeanne and Kara Lynne are joining me this week; please drop by the Tag, You're It Challenge #43 to see their lovely creations.

You have a two weeks to play along; plenty of time to get your tag-making mojo moving!

See you in the gallery!

Hope...FUSION Card Challenge~Teacup Flowers, Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge #13~Ink Only

My DT and I are delighted to welcome you to the new FUSION Card Challenge~Teacup Flowers. Such pretty blooms and oh, how smitten I am with the polka-dot teacup! Speaking of teacups, I have a variety of delicate ones - with matching saucers - in my home; treasured keepsakes from my Grandma that spark wonderful memories of cherished times spent on the farm with her and my Grandpa.
My focus was on the flowers, with these being the result. The pink of the first is quite obvious in the photo...

and if you look closely, a bit of purple also appears, so a second care emerged...

These were such fun to make: a pairing of Concord and 9th's Hope Labels die (love its size!), the accompanying Hope stamp set (for the sentiments), and a background fashioned with the Aloha Fill-in stencil.

Please head over to see the marvelous cards designed by my wonderful design team:

Looking forward to seeing your inspired designs in the gallery!

Feather Thanks... Guest Designer at TIME OUT Challenge #92~Inspired by Words Challenge

I'm very honoured to be a guest designer for the current TIME OUT Challenge~Inspired By Words. The quote to spark our creativity is:

Paint the flying spirit of the bird rather than its feathers.”

Lots of possibilities here for images and/or techniques.

Sooooo....before we go any further, I have a confession: I have bird terror. Yes, full on screaming-like-a-school girl whenever one comes close to me (close being defined by oh...half a block away). No idea where this phobia finds its roots; perhaps the bygone days of gathering eggs with my grandma, amidst the clucking, pecking and feather-flapping of the chickens. Or it could be The Birds movie, which we watched, in school, when I was in Grade 5. Seriously! Or maybe it's just me (I have an array of odd big flags and huge tents, to name just a few. Oh, and seeing or even thinking about the hull of boats/ships...a 'depth' thing, I reckon...shiver).

All that to say: my focus is on *feathers*.

I'm featuring my Concord and 9th's Give Thanks set, which is filled with possibility, versatility and a whole LOT of pretty!

Please drop by the TIME OUT challenge blog and check out the inspiration from the fabulous design team.  THANK YOU so much for inviting me to play alongside you in this challenge!

Looking forward to seeing your takes on this quote; I'm sure the variety will be fabulous!
